NYC Lifestyle Photoshoot with Victoria Smith

Victoria is an actor, model, and painter based in New York. She needed updated lifestyle images for her agents and we decided to shoot on location in Chelsea. One afternoon, moving through the neighbourhood as the light shifted.

Working in Chelsea

Victoria's background as an actor made the whole session easier. She reads a situation quickly and adjusts, which means less time setting things up and more time working. Almost felt like I was cheating.

Chelsea’s Charm as a Backdrop

Chelsea has enough variety to keep a session moving. Industrial architecture, open streets, some green space near the water. Late afternoon in May the light comes in from the west and softens quickly. We had a good two-hour window before it dropped.
